Description
Aberdeen Falls is a 98 m (322 ft) high waterfall on the Kehelgamu Oya near Ginigathena, in the Nuwara Eliya District of Sri Lanka. Aberdeen is named after Aberdeen, the third largest city in Scotland and the capital of Aberdeenshire. Kehelgamu Oya is a major tributary of the Kelani River.

It is a very beautiful waterfall located in the Ginigathhena area. I name this as one of the must see waterfalls in Sri... Lanka. If you are traveling by car, you can park your car in the park and go down a flight of stairs to reach View Point. During the rainy season, leeches are common on the road. Going down the stairs is easy, but getting back up is a bit tiring. On non-rainy days, you can walk to the bottom of the waterfall, but this should be done with caution.read more

If you are looking for safe and beautiful place to visit as a family, this is it. Very very attractive and beautiful... waterfall. You can walk almost under the waterfall. There are few people who are working volunteer as life guards. So no need to worry. Also remember to protect mother nature. 😍💪read more

One of the gorgeous water Falls in Sri Lanka . Root is easy to find and you have to walk around 600 meters from the... vehicle park . Going down is easy but climbing up is some what difficult. You can bath in the streams. But be careful when bathing. And look out for leach they are everywhere because this is a habitat of them .And please left only your foot steps not the garbage.read more

Named after the third largest city in Scotland and the capital of Aberdeenshire, Aberdeen falls is one of the most... beautiful in the country (provided you visit at the right time). When the spill gates of Norton-bridge dam are open the waterfall is in full flow, the view is spectacular (images 1 to 4) but you won't be able to go near it. If not the current is not so strong (images 5 to 8), so you can get in to the pool and walk almost to the fall along the sand reef, yes it is that shallow, with utmost care as the edge of the reef is unpredictable. If you are lucky enough you will get to do kayaking as well.read more

The coffee here was great, really recommend it. Has a really cool, trendy cafe vibe, you could be anywhere in the... world; except for the fact that they support a local sri lankan children's charity from the looks of some of the artwork around. Definitely head to this place if youre after a decent coffee in Kandy, menu looked great too!read more

This hotel has always maintained very high standards in terms of every aspect you can think of. They follow all covid... related safety measures. There is ample parking and the staff is always accommodating and friendly. Its always a pleasure to come to the hotel. The food is always great and the ambiance and atmosphere is very pleasant and soothing, usually with live music or at least some classical sings. I highly recommend the hotel to anyone and everyone.read more

One of Sri Lanka's Most beautiful waterfall. we have to walk around 20 minutes to reach the fall from vehicle parking.... To return It will be double, It is bit hard to return. we have to climb. The route has leeches.It will most beautiful when rainy season and you can't bath in the pool. I can suggest, go on dry season. so you can go near to the fall to bath and take photos.read more

Kadiyanlena water fall is not a big water fall. Can consider some what medium size waterfall. Access to this waterfall... is very easy. It's very near to main road and you will be able to have nice pics while you are in the road. You can park your vehicle near to waterfall. From the road it's 20 to 30 feet away and very easy to reach. If your so careful, then you will be able to have a relaxing bath here. If you're staying Tea Cottage Resort and Spa hotel, it's 5-10 mins drive away. So friends remember to protect the environment while you relax.read more

You must go on foot about 800 m to reach the watrfall. The road was littlebit rough. Do not go for a swim or bath,... because it is dangerous due to the "quick sand effect".read more

It's great place to visit. Bit hard to get down as very rocky path to go over to see the waterfall. There is a view... point for the waterfall, but it can reach from a separate path. Bit risky to swim in rainy times because it can be very deep around the water falling area. Very nice view. Please don't pollute these places. It's your responsibility to protect these places for our future.read more

Falls is a hop and a skip away from Laxapana, and it's a must-visit if you happen to be casually passing by the area. Standing 322 feet tall, it's got two 'pools', the more picturesque one being the one right at the bottom.read more

People bath here, but according to the information board(only in the English version part not in sinhala version) there's a risk of drowning and people have died past.read more

Loved this waterfall. Amazing view, there are two paths to get to the waterfall. One with steps and one with slightly... harder but beautiful walk path. Water is freezing cool yet you should definitely get in.read more
