Established in 1948, Bernards is a pioneer in creating custom-made T-shirts in Sri Lanka for a wide range of brands. What began as a humble, small-scale apparel factory has today grown exponentially, dominating the promotional and corporate t-shirt sector with a 65% market share.

The transition of Sri Lanka to an open economy in 1978 proved to be an ideal catalyst for “Bernards” to enter the export market due to its strict product quality which also provided the necessary stimuli for the formation of a new company “Bernard Philknit (Ceylon) Pvt. Ltd”. These companies together provide t-shirts, underwear, kids wear, sportswear, cotton gloves and other customized promotional wear for companies operating within and beyond Sri Lanka.
