The food, as well as the staff in this place are incredible. So much more than just hosts and chefs. It definitely... feels like having a family away from home. The breakfast changed every day, and althogh you probably have eaten a hole lot of currys once you get there, you´ll still be suprised how good theirs are.The place is conviniently located close to the lagoon and the ocean, so if you´re there for Kite-surfing, it should be your place of choice. Not to forget their little dogs are adorable.read more

Wow, this place is a dream! The contemporary-style bungalows are super comfy, clean, and cute (great mattresses, nice... windows, private open-air bathroom, and a beautiful little terrace) and the area that they are in is supernatural and beautiful with lots of animals around (it was like a dreamy farm/resort!). The accommodation itself is really high-value, but the real star of Coco Cabana was the staff. They were ready and available to help with whatever I needed (cooking special vegan meals for me, booking trains, cars and tuk-tuks, and even helping me sort out my lost-wallet situation). They would deliver my meals to my cabana if I didn't feel like socializing and would make sure to include me in whatever activities were happening in Kalpitiya during my stay. The property is about a ten-minute walk to the beach, and a half-hour walk to the kite-surfing so you technically don't even need a motorbike or tuk-tuk if you stay here (unlike many of the other properties located on the other side of the lagoon). By the way.... this was the only place I found in Kalpitiya with decent wifi so I actually ended up staying here for a full week because I was able to work from there.read more

I was in Kalpitiya for kitesurfing mostly and Coco Cabana Kite Resort is perfect for that. It is super close to the Big... Lagoon spot and in a good location in the area. The staff was very friendly and I enjoyed every minute of my stay!read more

Visited in August. The staff was super friendly. The owner even came and gave us a special treat with his great cooking... skills, made us an amazing crab soup and let us watch him execute his chef skills. We did a great BBQ with the fish, chicken and crabs the staff got us for a very reasonable price. Rooms were great altogether, it was a great stay.read more
