Description
One of Sri Lanka’s iconic historic hotels, Queen’s Hotel, situated in the heart of Kandy, faces the beautiful splendid surroundings alongside the Kandy Lake.
With a history of over 160 years The Queen's Hotel is a 80 room British Colonial style luxury hotel. This former Governor's residence is one of the oldest hotels in Sri Lanka which is managed by the Ceylon Hotels Corporation.
What's momentous about Queen's Hotel is that it is situated in Kandy, where the world prominent "Temple of the Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha" is. Every country has its pageants and festivals and so does Kandy which has the world famous "Kandy Esala Perahera Pageant" which is held annually. This pageant proceeds along side the Queen's Hotel's East & West wings, providing the most magnificent viewing facilities for the guests who patronize the hotel.

Nothing like any of the other forts in the country. No shops or cafes etc. Dont go thinking it's like Galle or Colomno... you will be very mistaken. Worth a walk around for nice sea views and photos. One or two cafes around the corner back towards the town.read more

A cozy place in Mallikarama road, Ratmalana. It can be a little tricky to find the place as it's kinda away from the... hustle. And the place is not much big. But despite all, the environment is superb and they have decorated the place nicely. They've got outdoor seatings as well. The food is unique and pleases your taste buds. Got a nice diverse menu with various kinds of waffles and associated foods and drinks and there's a kids menu too. The prices are pocket friendly. Friendly customer service and the interactions were positive. With music and all it creates a lovely atmosphere. And it's definitely worth visiting. The only downside was many of the food items were not available at the time of our visit due to shortage of chesse, beef, etc but it can be easily overlooked with all other positive factors.Highly recommended 👍read more

It's location is the best, if you're here for sightseeing. The rooms are cool and so is the lift since it's a very old... hotel. The food is actually very average tbh. Nothing special.read more

We went to have dinner last night at this beautiful colonial hotel in the heart of the even more beautiful city of... Kandy, the last Kingdom of Sri Lanka.In spite of the China 🇨🇳 virus 🦠 restrictions, the staff did a great 👍 job making us feel welcome 🙏, comfortable and safe.The food and the beverage was good although not everything in the menu was available due to import restrictions from the China 🇨🇳 virus 🦠, but we had a great 👍 meal 🥘, a lovely evening and can highly recommend this venue for indoor dining in a comfortable and safe manner.read more

The hotel is desperate for business, the waiters are on the road trying to pull in passing pedestrian for lunch. We... tried the lamprais. The served Yellow rice with some other items. Nothing like lamprais, very poor quality. They also have hidden charges for dine in customers so be careful before you go there.read more

An old and decapitated place with only a grand name and location. Not a place I'd recommend at all. Had issues with... water and AC. The furnishings were bare and antiquated and not in the nice sense of the word either.read more
