Ahangama is a village in the deep down south of Sri Lanka where a small fishing community is famous for its fishing techniques. Insight, a resort blessed with a beautiful beach frontage offering travelers a get away from the busy township or city life. Traveling time to Insight from the main Bandaranayke International Airport is approximately 2h and 19 minutes. And from the new Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport it also takes approximately 1h and 31 minutes.

TerribleNo hygiene flies in the restaurant and room, Lizard, stray dog in the hotel circumstance.Arrogant behaviour... of promoting the petty shop in the reception which is 3 times higher than MRP of product.read more

Me and my family was staying at this hotel for 14 days for the qurantine. The room which they provided to us was... terrible could see that they haven't even cleaned before the check-in.Since 3 of us were staying in the same room the extra bed which they placed was wobbling and even after complaining so many times they didn't take any action to replace the bed.The wifi was only working for 4 days and the rest of the days and they replaced the router but that also worked only for 2 days and the rest of the days we had to suffer.The main issue we had was every day around 5 pm insects starts coming into the room since there was a hole and we informed the front office and the guy who came to check was also aware of the insect issue the only solution was to provide us a mortein to spray in the room every day and it was very difficult for us to breathe after spraying motein.The food was so terrible and even the simplest dish they couldn't cook properly meaning a “ Dhal Curry-”Everyday they would serve the same kind of food just changing the way they present the food.Food potions were so so small not even enough for a small kid.There was just one guy who tried his best to give a good service but could understand that he didn't have enough authority to take action. Thank you, Kosala for trying your best.The overall experience was so terrible that we felt like staying in jail for 14 days with a good view. The main reason I'm sharing this after travelling for hours and hours you have to stay in a hotel stuck for 14 days without having proper food bed and internet after paying 500,000 thousand for 14 days you end up having this kind of experience nobody deserves to get treated like this.Felt like we could have stayed in Kandakadu for free at least they provide nice Sri lankan food everyday and well cleaned and maintained place to sleep!Thank you!read more

I am half way done of the quarantine and I am thinking that it’s gonna be hard to leave this place 🤗.My room,... is perfect...I normally check the shower first and it is stunning. The staff is absolutely adorable, even before I arrived here, via email they were very helpful. The view from my room...ohhh....I feel like I am in the ocean all the time. It’s really nice. And considering that I am vegetarian the staff is always double checking with me if I want something else or if I am happy with what they gave me...they even let me propose few dishes actually, that was nice too🙌🏽😁. I walk on the beach every morning, it brings me a lot of calm. There is also a spa where I had a massage on the second day...the woman was very profesional an I loved it. This was last stay in honeymoon trip back in December, 2018... we got a 5star feeling over there.. the private beach... made us so crazy ,that we took our night bath over there 😜😜 still remembering and it gives smile on the face .... Thank u..read more

We stayed at the Insight Resort for our 2 mandatory quarantine weeks in February 2021. We were blown away by how nice... the staff was and how much effort they put into giving us the best possible experience. The place is clean, well maintained, and offers a great price/value ratio. It has a direct access to a beautiful beach with coconut trees, a swimming pool, and a great variety of western and local food.We would definitely recommend the Insight Resort!read more
